FOR THE FASHION BUSINESS CONTEXT MODULE, I RESEARCHED SEXISM IN THE DESIGNER FASHION SECTOR. I LOOKED AT CAMPAIGNS FROM BRANDS SUCH AS TOM FORD, DOLCE AND GABBANA AND GUCCI.

I FOUND THAT BRANDS OFTEN PORTRAY WOMEN AS OBJECTS THAT ARE POSSESSED BY MEN AND WOMEN ARE OFTEN OVER SEXUALISED IN ORDER TO SELL PRODUCTS TO MEN, HOWEVER BRANDS SUCH AS GUCCI AND LOUIS VUITTON PROVIDED EVIDENCE AGAINST THIS SECTOR BEING SEXIST DUE TO THEIR ACCEPTANCE OF GENDER FLUIDITY.

I COMPLETED A SWOT ANALYSIS AND PESTLE ANALYSIS AND CONSIDERED IMPORTANT FACTORS SUCH AS THE GENDER PAY GAP AND DISCRIMINATION IN EMPLOYMENT. OVERALL THIS MODULE INSPIRED ME TO CONTINUE RESEARCHING GENDER RELATED ISSUES IN OTHER UNIVERSITY PROJECTS.
